    MalDet-Malware Detection Using Deep Learning and LSTM based Approach to Classify Malware

    Computer security requires malware detection. Recent research manually uncovers hazardous features using machine learning-based techniques. MalDet, a cutting-edge malware detection method, is recommended in this paper. MalDet classifies malware using a stacking ensemble and learns from grayscale images and opcode sequences using CNN and LSTM networks. According to the evaluation, MalDet's malware detection validation accuracy is 99.89%. MalDet outperforms other previous research with 99.36% detection accuracy and a significant detection speedup on the Microsoft malware dataset. We classified nine malware families for MalDet

    Effect of reduction of antiepileptic drugs in patients with drug-refractory epilepsy

    AbstractPurposeThe present study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the effects of reducing the number of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) administered to patients with drug-refractory epilepsy (DRE) during their admission and document any change in seizure frequency in subsequent follow up.MethodsA total of 962 patients with DRE who were admitted to the neurology wards waiting for connection to video EEG were recruited for this prospective study. After their admission to the neurology ward, modifications in the number and dosage of AEDs were done with a target of a maximum of three AEDs in every patient. Drug tapering was done using a standardized protocol. The primary outcome was the change in seizure frequency in the follow-up period of 6 months. Secondary outcome measures were the adverse event profile (AEP) and the quality of life (QOL).ResultsOf the 1134 patients screened, 962 patients gave consent to participate in the study. The mean number of AEDs received by each patient was 4.24. After the tapering following a standardized protocol each patient received a mean of 2.65 AEDs per patient. In 82.70% patients with DRE, there was either a reduction or no change in seizure frequency in the subsequent 6 months follow up. There was a significant reduction in the AEP score after the reduction in the number of AEDs (P=0. 001).ConclusionOur study proves that optimization of reduction of the number of AED's in patients with DRE leads to reduction or no change in seizure frequency with a significant decrease in adverse effects

    Study of coronary artery disease in young population of Central India

    Background: Coronary heart disease is the most common indication among cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and a major cause of mortality and morbidity. According to global burden of disease study estimates, nearly 24.8% of all deaths in India are attributable to CVD. Objectives of the current research study were to establish a correlation between varied risk factors and coronary artery disease (CAD), to determine angiographic characteristics individually in patients with multiple risk factors and to evaluate number of vessels involved in CAD.Methods: Present study was a prospective study conducted on 50 patients with acute coronary syndrome below 40 yrs of age admitted at the department of cardiology, Superspeciality hospital, NSCB medical college, Jabalpur. All patients included in the study were subjected to coronary angiography. The angiographic characteristics such as extent of CAD (characterized by the number of vessels with angiographic lesions) were determined.Results: Current study findings depicted that most of CAD patients were in age group of 36-40 years. Proportion of males was higher than females. One-fifth of patients were diabetics and 34.0% were hypertensive. It was observed that 54.0% CAD patients had history of smoking and 32.0% had history of premature CAD. Most of patients exhibited single vessel disease in CAG and left anterior descending (LAD) was the most commonly involved artery.Conclusions: Smoking was concluded as one of the major risk factor associated with CAD and most of patients exhibited single vessel disease, LAD being the most commonly involved artery. Significant number of patients with family history depicted high risk for CAD. Males were concluded to be more prone to CAD at younger age

    Chemical Protection Studies of Activated Carbon Spheres based Permeable Protective Clothing Against Sulfur Mustard, a Chemical Warfare Agent

    Technological advancements in the field of chemical threat have made it possible to create extremely dangerous chemical warfare agents (CWA). Hence, the effective protection of personnel is very important in a chemical warfare scenario amidst the current climate of terrorism awareness. In particular, body protection plays a substantial role in the chemical defence considering the urgency of situation in the nuclear, biological and chemical environment. Activated carbon spheres (ACS) based permeable chemical protective clothing (coverall) was developed for protection against CWA. The adsorbent material i.e, ACS used in this protective clothing provided higher adsorption capacity (1029 mg/g in terms of iodine) and low thermal burden (34 °C WBGT index) compared to earlier indigenously developed NBC suit. This article focuses on the extensive evaluation of chemical protective clothing against sulfur mustard (HD), a CWA. The results revealed that the developed protective clothing provided more than 24 h protection against HD. This chemical protective suit is light weight (< 2.75 kg for XL size). It also has higher air permeability (> 30 cm3/s/cm2) as well as less water vapour resistance (< 9.6 m2Pa/W). With continued innovations in materials and attention to key challenges it is expected that advanced, multifunction chemical protective suit will play a pivotal role in the CWA protection scenario
